Per Que Torçut Dansan Lo Monde, avec Sourdure.

Performance, concert in collaboration with Sourdure, Bastien, Mignot, Elisa Trébouville.

Is tradition connected to authenticity ? Pau Simon and Ernest Bergez explore the invention potential of the “traditional” from the experimental perspective of Auvergne folk music and dance. Their work is based on a treatise written by Fernand Dezangles on a dance from the Middle Ages that was censored and then forgotten: the Goignade. Like speleologists, they explore its rites of transformation (of voice, of expression), the extraversion of an archaic and liberating energy, which situates it in the field of the monstrous. At the same time, they reflect on the folklorization of popular traditions, a preservation movement that runs the risk of distorting them, or even confiscating their practices from the people.

Length of the performance : 50 minutes
Audience : 7 years and up
