Serendipity (2013) is a connected object. It takes the form of a performance for a spokesperson “interpreter”, who would support the involuntary discourse arising from the intuitive proposals of the Google search engine. The content of the discourse is thus partly updated over time, and even with Google’s geo-localized sensitivity. The semi-random algorithm, and the fictional or real element of chance it induces, are used here as a means of warming up the mind to the improbable, and as an ideal slip-of-the-tongue generator, for an expressiveness somewhere between sociological and poetic.
